Monday had plenty of public meetings with the Carter County Commission meeting in the morning and a Ardmore City Commission meeting in the evening. More meetings will happen in Ardmore on Tuesday evening, as well, with the school board meetings beginning at 5 p.m. and the city commission hearing from an energy company.
The Monday morning meeting of the Carter County Commission saw an update to the County Improvements for Roads and Bridges (CIRB) five-year plan, adding a box-bridge on Bristol Road and a project to widen a portion of Prairie Valley Road. Commission approval of those priorities sets the projects in motion, with commissioners warning that they are still months to years out from any sort of construction. In the podcast, hear comments from Commissioners Berry Lee-Brinkman and Bill Baker about the projects.
The Ardmore City Commission met for a regular meeting on Monday evening where they approved a plan for the Ardmore Police Department to have a six-month trial run of 12-hour shifts. The plan has been approved by the Fraternal Order of Police, and the podcast includes comments from FOP Vice-President Landon Gary about the shift.
Keep an eye on the weather this week, don’t forget to recycle, and I’ll be back with the podcast next week.
